TGIF - My Village!

My husband has encouraged me to remind us all about the reason for the season.  Thankfulness!

We need to be thankful!

I want us all to remember what Thanksgiving is all about.

We do this by reflecting on the things we are thankful for having in our lives.  Good and bad!

The month of November and its Fall season is being washed away by Christmas.  Even at my house! But as I put up my Christmas tree early this year, I am going to be thankful as I do so.  I am going to be thankful for the good and the bad things in my life.

Today I am going to be thankful I have a mother and a mother in law that both help me more than I could ever repay.  One is my daycare and the other is my third arm when I need it! I am thankful to you both! They forgive me when I am late.  They both look at me with understanding eyes - that say I know you are doing all you can do, it’s ok!! They spoil my babies and love them so so fully!

I am thankful for my husband that keeps me anchored and makes our life go around as smoothly as possible.  He makes an effort to make my life easier. He genuinely wants me to be happy. My fixer of all things. My teammate in cleaning up this mess of life!  He makes me better.

I want us all to spend some time thinking about the people that make our lives flow smoothly.

Let’s recognize the people that make our world go around!

It takes a village to raise children.  It takes moms, dads, bonus dads, grandparents, daycare workers, teachers, coaches, pastors and siblings all to mold our children.  We all hope it is in positive ways, but sometimes it’s not and we should be thankful for those too. Every bump, bruise, and tear along the way made us who we are!  Every wrong turn or every bad decision shaped us.

Be thankful for who you have, what you have, and how you got it!

We should be thankful in all things.

Be thankful for that annoying thing in your life and ask God to show you the good it will bring.  I have found this to be the easiest way to break free of the annoyance.

Once I have given the “person” or “issue” to God and thanked him for taking care of it for me, I am at peace. No the issue may not be resolved yet, but I am not held hostage either.  You have to really hand it over.. you can’t say “you take it” and then keep worrying about it. Release the “fur problem” -- stop “petting it”!

Every time it comes back to your mind say “thank you for taking care of this for me, amen”.

Be thankful in all things.

Be Different Folks!
